Melany Thompson is a pianist and composer from Sydney, Australia. Her emotive music, described as “hauntingly beautiful,” is written from the heart to inspire the mind and create a space for deep reflection.

Classically trained from a young age, the piano has always been a place of comfort, expression, and calm for Melany. Her music has been released through respected modern-classical labels worldwide, amassing over 14 million streams across digital platforms.

Alongside her artist releases, Melany composes for screen, with her work featured on TV programs across Australia and the US. Most recently, Melany was nominated for an APRA Screen Music Award as part of the team behind the crime underscore for the Australian series Murder Down Under, recognising her growing presence in screen composition.

Melany hopes to inspire her two children through music – “I want my kids to grow up knowing they don’t have to wait for permission or for someone to tell them they are good enough before they follow their dreams.”
