Mary Doumany

Mary is renowned in Australia as both a harpist and composer. She is considered by her peers to be at the forefront of innovation in contemporary harp techniques.

She has mastered multiple genres, including jazz, pop, classical and experimental music and starting playing at age seventeen with the Qld, Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras. Mary is also a songwriter and her projects have been nominated for five ARIA awards.

Her collaborators have included Paul Grabowsky, Slava Grigoryan and David Hirschfelder and you can hear her playing on major movie soundtracks, including "Shine" and "The Truman Show". Mary has a collection of monikers on Soothe Sounds, including Zen of Harp, Mary Margaret, Lorna Thornton, Raphael Blake and Alice in Freefall, among others.
