Luciana Hamond
Luciana Hamond is a Brazilian pianist, neoclassical composer, and academic from Rio de Janeiro. Her artistic voice is rooted in piano improvisation, through which she transforms introspection, challenge, and personal growth into music. Through her music, she seeks to touch listeners deeply, especially those who may be postponing something essential in their lives. Her music invites reflection, inner connection, and the courage to act in order to turn dreams into reality.
Since 2016, she has developed an original compositional practice shaped through three important creative phases: 2016, during the final stage of her doctoral studies in London; 2018, through a deep process of self-knowledge and connection with her compositional essence; and 2020, in response to the challenges of the pandemic.
Her musical language has been influenced by artists such as Enya and Yann Tiersen, and she also feels a strong affinity with contemporary pianist-composers such as Alexis Ffrench, Alexandra Stréliski, and Matthew Mayer.
She released the singles Donation (2023) and Fear (2024), followed by the EP Piano Inspirations (2024), nominated in 2025 for SoloPiano.com’s Classical Album of the Year award. Luciana holds a PhD in Music from the UCL Institute of Education and currently teaches in Cuiabá, Brazil.
